One other common characteristic of those with ADHD is being self -involved. This often leads to difficulty in taking the needs of others into consideration.
In addition, people with ADHD tend to interrupt others, even when what they have to contribute is irrelevant to the conversation. In children, this focus on the self often leads them to engage in social situations, like game playing, without being invited to do so or not having the patience to wait their turn when waiting in line for something or when playing sports.
