6 Things to Know About Conjunctivitis in Children (pink eye)

There are Home Relief Treatments

Although, as we mentioned above, you should speak to a medical professional if you believe you or your child has pinkeye, there are some home remedies that can help to reduce symptoms related to this condition. For example, using a compress (a wet cloth that has been wrung out) can provide some relief when put on the closed eyelid. While allergic conjunctivitis responds better to a cold compress, bacterial and viral kinds of pinkeye tend to respond better to a warm compress. It should go without saying, but if only one eye is infected, be sure not to use the wet cloth on both eyes as doing so can cause the infection to spread.
