Differences between Children and Adults
Regardless of age, the flu is contracted the same and the symptoms that we exhibit tend to be similar. However, there are some differences when it comes to the ways in which adults and children experience the flu. The four main differences between symptoms that adults experience and those that babies, children, and youth experience are as follows:
Babies usually only present with a high fever and no other symptoms
Young children may present with a fever but also convulsions known as febrile seizures
Young children might also present with a painful upset stomach, vomiting, diarrhea, earaches and/or red eyes
Young children may also experience sever leg and/or back pain
