6. Adjust the Bathroom Routine
Going to the bathroom right before bed is one of the easiest ways to help your child stop bedwetting. Although it won’t cure an underdeveloped bladder, if their bladder is empty then they’re less likely to have an accident. Although this sounds like an easy task, it’s not. For children who drag their bedtime out with numerous requests for stories, snacks, and hugs, the timing can be difficult.
If this sounds like your child, then add a second bathroom trip right before you go to bed. “When your child empties her bladder, there’s less of a chance she’ll have to urinate during the night,” explains Dr. Goldstein.
