ADHD Signs and Symptoms to Look Out For

6. Not Reaching Potential

One sad reality of having ADHD is that many with it do not reach their full potential. A reason for this is due to the fact that they often have difficulties staying on task, listening to instruction from parents and educators, again, paying attention.

This is not to say that individuals with ADHD are any less intelligent, its moreso the fact that our education system was not developed with them in mind.

The Child Development Institute refers to this as “underachievement for intelligence.” It is, however, important to note that often those with ADHD also have learning disabilities that can make it even harder for them to reach their full potential.
