High Fever
The number one symptom to be on the lookout is a high grade fever that is persistent and doesn’t seem to want to quit. However, don’t be fooled if your child’s fever seems to subside as chances are it will reappear. If your child has a fever as high as 104 it is considered to be “high grade.” If your baby has a fever as high as 100.4 degrees then you should seek medical attention as this can be harmful. Although using your hand and checking to see if they are sweating or shivering can give you an idea of whether or not your child is burning up, it is crucial to have a thermometer in order to gauge with accuracy how high the fever is with accuracy. It is important also to act quickly since a fever that is persistent or recurrent is an indicator that your child may have complications as a result of having the flu like pneumonia, which is a very serious condition in children. Therefore, if this is the case we suggest seeking medical attention right away. In the end, it is better to be safe than sorry.
