Be The Role Model Your Children Deserve
Be a Great Role Model
Kids learn by watching their parents, so be the role model that they deserve. Model appropriate, respectful behavior if that’s what you expect from them.
Admit your Faults
When you make a mistake, own up to it. Admit your mistake and apologize. This will help your child learn when and how to apologize to others.
Be Green
Reduce, reuse and recycle. Show your kids how to care for the environment.
Be an Honest Person
Tell the truth, always. If you expect your children to be honest then you need to do the same.
Show Affection to Your Partner
The relationship between you and your spouse is the only example that your child has of what a healthy intimate relationship looks like. It’s your job to set that bar high.
Parenting Differences Aren’t a Bad Thing
You and your partner are going to have different approaches to parenting at times, and that’s okay. When your opinions differ it’s important to respect and support them (unless it’s out of line). Criticizing your partner will do more harm than good when it comes to your relationship and the boundaries that you set for your children. It’s important to be on the same page whenever possible.
