3. Struggles with Rhymes
“Hickory Dickory dock, the mouse ran up the clock” is just one example of a rhyme that can be found in nursery rhymes, which children typically love to learn and repeat. However, if your child seems to have difficulties in learning even simple nursery rhymes and is unable to recite them, this might be indicative of dyslexia.
Another simple test is to ask your child to find rhyming words to short, simple words like “dog.” The main reason why a dyslexic child might have issues with this task is because they may not be able to break down the words into separate parts.
